My work is based around my son. He is my inspiration, my muse if you like. I work in contemporary tableware as well as sculptural ceramics. I like to use mixed media, so I have used processes such as Liquid Light* ,photography, wood and natural materials. I have also experimented with different firings, such as saggar, raku, and smoke.
My work is about the fragile nature of the growing child, and how they look at the world, including life and death.
I like my work to have a function, but in some cases these functions are purely for display.
My work develops as I develop, and my son grows.
*This is when you paint on to the work a viscous substance which means you are able to use your work like photographic paper to leave an image on 3D pieces.
